The Dress Rehersal

Been a bit slack about the updates lately but a lot has gone on over the past few weeks.Yes i am only a little over 60% of the way through but that didnt stop the scarf getting its first outing! On the 31st of March I was lucky enough to attend the exclusive preview of the Eleventh Hour for the residents of Llandaff. As soon as the tickets arrived in my inbox i felt really low as it would have been a perfect outing for the scarf...but it was only half done.
The weekend before I was sat at my parents house watching my grandmother knit a cardigan and i noticed a huge safety pin clipped to the end of one section. So I asked what she was using it for and she told me it was a "stich saver". It was holding a row of stiches in place whilst she worked on another section. That was when i decided. I would pin the unfinished end with a stich saver and sew in off the unfinished ends so that to the untrained eye it would look as if i had a finished scarf.

This was the length of it at that timeAt lunch on the Monday the first thing i did was pick up 2 stich savers and a darning needle and started to sew in the row ends. It didnt take as long as i expected and by Wednesday Morning i had a wearable scarf!

So after work on the 31st I headed off to Llandaff and was not disappointed, i got to watch the episode wrapped in my beloved scarf afterall!

The guest pass

And finally probably THE most embarrassing picture of me EVER. But its the only one with the finished "half-scarf"
