Staring into the Abyss
Last night was terrible. Absolutely terrible. I sat down once the monsters were asleep and started to finish the 10 rows I needed to stay on target.
Halfway through a row i suddenly found myself short of wool. Strange since I know there was plenty left. I look on the floor and there is the rest of the wool laying there... It had snapped. Rather than worry about changing colour mid row I "un-knitted" to the end of the row and started again. Sure enough after a row and a half it happened again, and again, and again.
I was losing my temper. I was having to unknit and tie on a new bit of thread every other row. I check the wool and found that at some point I must have left the scissors uncovered in my bag and it had snipped through quite a few lengths of wool.
I lost control completely
I dropkicked my knitting bag, with scarf inside, down the stairs. There was wool EVERYWHERE.
I sat and contemplated what to do next. I was fed up, annoyed by slow progress and constant problems. I told R to put the whole lot in the bin. I was done!
He suggested unkitting back to the last section and casting off to create a smaller scarf. Because at least then I would have something to show for all my hard work. I wasnt convinced.
So i took a time out. Ate some chocolate and chilled watching TV for half an hour. Then R reminded me of how excited I would be to finally own my own scarf. And not one that was bought but made with my own hands.
So I decided to give it another go. At this point it was 11pm and I was falling asleep but I HAD to hit my 20 row target. I looked at the last 6 rows, they were a state. So I unravelled to the previous section and started the block again.
At 12.30 I had hit my 20 row target and went to bed a happy bunny.
Onward and Upward I say

Getting my Arse in Gear
Woah its been almost a month since an update! I have reached 600 rows...That means that I am just 175 rows from halfway.
I have really got to get a move on. At this point I am lucky to get more than 10 rows a day. This HAS to change.
On the way to work I can get through 6 rows and 8 rows on the return journey, barring distraction (i'm looking at you Facebook and Twitter). So realistically with a little effort I could start hitting 20 or 25 rows a day. If I can carry this pace over to the weekend It will take 47 days to finish (based on 20 per day).
With a bit more effort when i have free time (such as quiet lunches at work etc) then I *could* push to finish before Series 5 hits the screens
How awesome would that be? Sitting to watch the Doctor with my very own finished scarf.
I MUST MAKE THIS HAPPEN
